1. Agreement

By creating an account or using Hannect (the “Platform”), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.

2. Eligibility & Age

You must be 18 or older and able to form a binding contract. By registering you represent that you meet this requirement. We may verify eligibility and may suspend accounts that do not.

3. The Marketplace; Our Role

Hannect is a venue connecting users (“Guests”) with independent third-party “Experts” for prepaid audio/video calls. Experts are independent contractors, not employees or agents of Hannect. We perform a documentary identity-verification check on Experts but do not endorse, guarantee, or assume responsibility forthe credentials, quality, accuracy, legality, or outcomes of any Expert's advice, and we do not monitor or review call content. Experts decide which bookings to accept.

4. Prepaid Credits, Payments & Escrow

Calls are paid via prepaid credits or per-booking charges processed by Stripe (USD/diaspora) or Chapa (Ethiopia). Funds for a booking are held by our payment partners and released to the Expert upon completion of the call. Our payment processors are the regulated parties that handle and hold funds; Hannect does not take custody of your money outside what those partners administer. Currency, platform fees, and taxes are shown at checkout.

5. Cancellations, No-shows & Refunds

  • Expert-cancelled bookings: full refund.
  • Guest cancellation more than 24 hours before the call: full refund.
  • Guest cancellation within 24 hours of the call, or a Guest no-show: may be non-refundable.
  • Expert no-show: full refund.
  • Refunds are returned to the original payment method, typically within 5–7 business days.
  • EU/UK consumers: your statutory withdrawal/refund rights under applicable consumer law are unaffected by this section.

6. Professional-Advice Disclaimers

Do not rely solely on it; consult a licensed professional before any significant financial, health, or legal decision. The Platform and Expert services are provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, to the maximum extent permitted by law.

  • Financial/investment content is not a recommendation to buy or sell any security; consult a licensed advisor.
  • Health/wellness content is not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment; consult a licensed healthcare provider.
  • Legal information is not a substitute for advice from a licensed attorney.

7. User Responsibilities

  • Use the Platform lawfully and respect other users' rights.
  • Do not harass, threaten, defame, or abuse anyone.
  • Provide accurate registration information.
  • Do not disclose sensitive personal information you are not comfortable sharing.
  • Take responsibility for evaluating advice and seeking professional consultation.

8. Expert Conduct

Experts must not misrepresent licensure, advise outside their stated expertise, encourage exclusive reliance for critical decisions, or engage in fraud, harassment, or illegal activity. Violations may result in removal.

9. Intellectual Property & Likeness

Platform content (logos, text, design) belongs to Hannect or its licensors. Experts (including public figures) grant Hannect a limited, revocable license to display their name, likeness, and profile content to operate and promote the Platform.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Hannect is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, for losses arising from Expert advice, or for inability to use the Platform; our aggregate liability will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid in the prior 12 months or US$100. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law (including, for EU/UK consumers, mandatory statutory rights, death or personal injury from negligence, or fraud).

11. Termination & Account Deletion

We may suspend or terminate access for Terms violations, fraud, or legal reasons. You may delete your account in Settings; deletion is permanent after a 14-day grace period, during which you may cancel the request. Sections that by nature survive (IP, liability, disputes) survive termination.

12. Changes

We post material changes and update the version/date; continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance. For EU/UK consumers we provide reasonable advance notice of adverse changes.

13. Governing Law (severable)

  • US users: these Terms are governed by the laws of the state in which Hannect is incorporated [to be finalized on incorporation], without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
  • EU/EEA & UK consumers: governed by the mandatory consumer-protection law of your country of residence, and you may bring claims in your local courts (Reg. (EU) 1215/2012 Art. 17–19; Rome I Art. 6). Nothing in these Terms deprives you of that protection.
  • Ethiopian users: mandatory provisions of Ethiopian consumer and data-protection law apply.

14. Dispute Resolution & Class Waiver (US users only)

For US users, any dispute will be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA)under its consumer rules (Federal Arbitration Act, 9 U.S.C. §2). You and Hannect waive jury trial and class or collective actions. You may opt out of arbitration within 30 days of first accepting these Terms by emailing legal@hannect.com. Small-claims and injunctive-relief carve-outs apply. This Section does not apply to EU/EEA or UK consumers, who retain their statutory forum and rights under Section 13.
